The cylindrical body holds more than a flat pack of the same height, and it holds it in a shape that stays upright when you put it down. A full-length zip runs the length of the body, so the whole bag opens rather than being packed through a hole at the top.

Cut from crazy horse cowhide with D-rings and detachable straps — take them off and it is a leather duffel; clip them on and it is a rucksack.
